Jeimer Carrera
Infrastructure Cybersecurity Engineer
I’m the Infrastructure Cybersecurity Engineer at W. P. Carey. I help keep the company and our people safe from cyber threats. This involves enhancing our cybersecurity program, strengthening our perimeter defenses, implementing initiatives around emerging technologies like AI security and developing employee training. I focus on making sure our infrastructure has a strong, secure foundation.
Describe your career journey.
My career journey has been focused within Information Technology, with a specialized emphasis on IT security for the past eight years.
I started out in infrastructure, systems and networking roles, which gave me a solid technical base and a deep understanding of enterprise architecture and operational dynamics.
Ultimately, I wanted to take that experience and use it to build a full-scale cybersecurity program from the ground up. W. P. Carey gave me the chance to do just that – and to work across different areas of cybersecurity instead of being boxed into one specialty. That’s what really drew me here.
