Robert J. Flanagan
Robert J. Flanagan was elected to W. P. Carey’s Board of Directors in 2018 and serves as Chair of the Audit Committee and a member of the Investment Committee. Mr. Flanagan is a Managing Director at CNF Investments (since 2006). Mr. Flanagan was the Executive Chairman (2023-2025) and CEO & President (2021-2022) of Clark Enterprises, Inc., a private investment firm with a diversified portfolio of holdings, including real estate and private equity in Bethesda, Maryland. He was a trustee of the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation (2009-2016).
Mr. Flanagan serves as a director of Brown Advisory, Inc. (since 2016). He previously served as Chair and director of Washington, D.C.’s Federal City Council. He previously served as a director of Vascular Therapies, Martek Biosciences Corporation (NASDAQ: MATK), Sagent Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: SGNT), Svelte Medical Systems, Verax Biomedical, Development Insurance Group and Clark Enterprises, Inc. Mr. Flanagan is an advisor of Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. He was a Treasurer, Secretary and a member of the board of directors of the Baltimore Orioles, Inc.
Mr. Flanagan received a B.S. in Business Administration from Georgetown University and an MST from the American University School of Business. He is a certified public accountant licensed in Washington, D.C.
