Margaret G. Lewis was elected to W. P. Carey’s Board of Directors in 2017 and serves as Chair of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and as a member of the Compensation Committee.

Ms. Lewis has served on the board of directors at Flowers Foods, Inc. (NYSE: FLO) since 2014, where she chairs the Compensation Committee. She was a Class C Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond from 2013 to 2019, where she served as Chairman (2017-2018) and Deputy Chairman (2019). Ms. Lewis previously served as a director of NYSE-listed Smithfield Foods (2011-2013). She formerly served as a board member for the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association (2005-2013), where she served as Chairman and President of the Search Committee (2012-2013) and Secretary and Treasurer (2010-2012).

In addition to her corporate board experience, Ms. Lewis brings a wealth of healthcare expertise from her tenure at Hospital Corporation of America (NYSE: HCA) as the President of the Capital Division (2004-2013) and CEO of the CJW Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia (2001-2004). She began her career with HCA in 1976 and held several positions in nursing management and quality management before becoming Chief Nursing Officer of HCA's Richmond Division in 1997.

Ms. Lewis holds an A.A.S. in Nursing from John Tyler Community College, a B.S. in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University and an M.B.A. from Averett University. She is also a registered nurse and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
