Mr. Hayes joined the Asset Management department in 2009 and was promoted to Vice President in 2011 and Director in 2012. He is responsible for all dispositions, restructuring, refinancing, and leasing transactions for a $1.4 billion diversified real estate portfolio encompassing 15 million square feet. In addition, Mr. Hayes oversees management of the firm’s hotel investments on behalf of the CPA® Programs, W. P. Carey & Co LLC, and the firm’s lodging-focused investment fund, Carey Watermark Investors.
Prior to joining W. P. Carey, Mr. Hayes worked as an Associate at A&Co, a boutique real estate investment and development firm in New York specializing in urban redevelopment projects. Prior to joining A&Co, Mr. Hayes worked as an Analyst at The Finance Project, doing financial consulting for non-profit organizations in the education industry.
Mr. Hayes earned his MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, with a dual concentration in Finance and Real Estate. He received his B.A. from Williams College, where he captained the lacrosse team and earned Academic All-American honors.
