Del Monte Corp. (NYSE:DLM) manufactures and distributes premium quality nutritious food products principally under the Del Monte and Contadina brand names. The Company is the largest producer of canned fruits and vegetables in the United States and sells its products through national grocery chains and independent grocery stores. The Company also sells to warehouse club stores and mass merchandisers, such as Wal-Mart and Kmart, and larger merchandising outlets that include full grocery sections, such as Wal-Mart Supercenters and Kmart's Super Ks. In addition, Del Monte sells its products to the foodservices industry, food processors, the U.S. military and in certain export markets. The Company operates 14 production facilities in California, the Midwest, Washington and Texas, and six distribution centers.
